Personal History: Shane was born on October 27th to Sarah and Philip Williams. He has two older brothers and a younger sister, none of whom have any magical ability. When he received his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, he thought that it was a joke that his friends were playing. After he realized that it was the truth, he couldn't have been more thrilled to be going to a school for magic.
When he was sorted, the Hat didn't even have to think about him. He was a Gryffindor through and through, and he was a very well-liked student. He played on the Quidditch team from third year until he graduated, though he never enjoyed Quidditch as much as football. Flying was lots of fun, of course, but there was so much more control with the Muggle sport. He didn't date a lot while he was in school, but he had a couple of girlfriends. He was also the Gryffindor Prefect in his seventh year, though he wished that he could have passed up that opportunity.
Once he got out of Hogwarts, he still wasn't sure what he wanted to do. He'd originally thought that he'd have liked to play Quidditch professionally, but he realized that he didn't like it that much. Instead, he decided to try writing a small article for the Quibbler. He'd not done much writing (that people had read, anyway) while in school, but with the popularity of the article that he'd written, he decided that perhaps it would be fun for him to write as a living.
Since then, he has been alternately writing a novel and newspaper articles, travelling over England and into Hogwarts every now and again for stories.
Personality: Shane is a really anti-authority type of person. He is very much a leader, not a follower, and prefers to go his own path, regardless of whether or not people follow him. People generally tend to like him because he always has a smile on his face, though sometimes you can't tell if his smile is because he's amused or being sarcastic.
Shane isn't a very serious person. He much prefers to make people laugh, and it's very hard for him to take things seriously. When he gets into trouble, he can't keep the grin off his face, though he knows that he's in trouble. He's got lots of confidence in himself until he's actually put on the spot for something -- then he tends to feel inadequate, and he makes up for it by pretending to be all that.
He's got a great sense of intuition and he can be very sensitive to those that he knows and likes. He speaks his mind, however, so don't look to him for bunches of lies. He'd prefer to tell you that you look fat in that dress than to tell you that you look great and have you go out looking horrendous.
Physical Description: Shane has short brown hair and brown eyes. He's 6'2" and of average, muscular build, due to his athletics. His smile is the most remarkable feature that he has; it's a smile that lights up the room and can almost always be found on his face.
